Marathon County Restorative Justice Staff

Carrie S. Vergin, CSW
Carrie is the Coordinator for Marathon County Restorative Justice Programs.  She grew up in Rothschild, WI and is a graduate of D.C. Everest High School.  She served in the U.S. Air Force from 1980 through 1986 as a medical laboratory technologist.  She met and married her husband, Everest Metro Police Chief Daniel Vergin in 1990.  They have two teenage boys of their own and have provided foster care to several children in Marathon County.   Due to her interest in social services, Carrie went back to college in 2002 and graduated in 2005 with a Bachelor's Degree in Human Services from Upper Iowa University.  She also gained her certification as a social worker.  Since her graduation, Carrie has been working in the Restorative Justice Field.  The program in Marathon County has been under her direction since 2005 and services have been provided to victims of juvenile crime and their offenders.  Recently (2008) the program expanded to include 17 and 18 year old offenders.


 

 

David Cha, BS Sociology
David is a Facilitator for Marathon County Restorative Justice Programs.  David grew up in Colorado and Wisconsin, graduating from Newman High School.  After high school he went to the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Sociology.  Prior to his employ with the Restorative Justice Program he interned with the Hmong Association and worked in the truancy and peer court programs at the Boys and Girls Club of Wausau.  David married May See in 2006 and they are now the proud parents of a son.

 

Paula Schultz, BS Human Services
Paula is a Facilitator for Marathon County Restorative Justice Programs.  She grew up in the Wausau area and graduated from Wausau West High School.  Paula was previously employed in the Human Resources Department of Fiskars.  Due to the elimination of most of Fiskars' production in Wausau however, Paula returned to college.  She obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Human Services from Upper Iowa University and is in the process of gaining her certification in social work.  Paula also has a teenage son.  Paula enjoys summer activities and h as a great love for animals.
